Since I've been so slack about posting, I need to catch up on some pics... if you ask me, our Banks gets cuter by the day ;-)

Greenville Drive Game
Kayla and Byron invited us to go to the Greenville Drive Game with them, and sit in the Skins Hotdogs box. It was a lot of fun, and the weather was perfect. Banks enjoyed his first sporting event!

First trip to Black River
We managed to squeeze in a trip to the Black River to spend with Karen and Rion. Patrick and Rion took an extra long boat ride while Karen, Banks, Demi and I hung out at the house. It's always a relaxing time at the river, and I'm glad Banks got started early :-)

5 Months
I know everyone says this, but WHERE DOES THE TIME GO? Our baby is almost half a year old!
He continues to grow up and develop in front of our eyes. He reaches for, and grabs, everything near and far. He reaches for people, food, faces, objects, lights, etc. He imitates all facial expressions when you look at him. He absolutely loves Demi now, and always wants to grab her fur, nose, ears. He "talks" constantly and gives the best belly laughs in the world. He can roll from both stomach to back and back to stomach (which he started doing while I was in Nashville). He is constantly chewing his hands and drooling so I'm guessing teeth are in our near future. He has definitely found his feet, and has gotten them to his mouth a few times. He's been sleeping in his crib for about a month, but we had to start swaddling him again because he was fighting sleep. He usually wakes up once a night for a feeding between 3 and 6. He weighs around 17lbs and has the best cheeks for kissing and loving on. And boy does he love being kissed and loved on. He wants someone in his sight at all times, preferably me or Patrick.
He does have a bit of a stubborn side when it comes to Mommy's milk. As much as he loves to eat, you'd think he wouldn't be particular about how he gets fed, but that boy will fight a bottle at the drop of a hat. The sweet ladies a his daycare tell me he fights it about half the time, and if I go out of town he usually goes on bottle strike for the first 12 hours or so I'm gone. Good thing we're working on those solids!

Introducing Solids
Of everything so far, introducing solids has confused me more than anything else. Everything I read and everyone I talk to have different opinions on it.
Ever since Banks turned 4 months, he has been so hungry that milk didn't seem to be quite enough. I talked to his pediatrician at his 4 month wellness check, and he told me I could start introducing solids. I waited until he was about 4 and a half months, and then I put some cereal in milk and started trying to give it to him with a spoon every couple of days. He liked the cereal, but didn't love it. So, then came some veggies. I take them one week at a time an give him about a third or half of the container once a day. The first week was sweet potatoes, next was carrots, and next was squash. Then came fruit, and we did apples. That's where we are now.
Banks LOVES to eat. He grabs the spoon himself and puts it in his mouth. Hopefully this means he won't be a picky eater!

The Helmet
Ever since Banks' 2mo wellness appointment, he has been seeing a physical therapist (Carol) at Anmed Pediatric Therapy Works for torticollis. His neck is tight on the right side, causing his head to tilt and has led to a flat spot on the back left of his head. Over the last few months, we've done lots of stretches and exercises to loosen and strengthen the muscles in his neck. Hid torticollis is improving, but his head shape continues to be flat in the back.
He went for a scan in early May to determine if he was appropriate for a helmet to correct his head shape. His length to height ratio was around 100%. The high end of normal is 92%, so he is technically in the severe category for the flatness. One week after the scan, we got his helmet. He has to wear it 23 hours a day for 10-14 days.
He has adjusted pretty well to it. It doesn't seem to bother him too much! Three weeks later, his head shape is already improving. He will another scan in 2 weeks to get the new measurements. I can't wait to see the numbers!

Wedding Season
I am officially a month behind on the blog, but I have a good excuse. Patrick and I have several of our best friends getting married this summer and we have been very busy attending those events.
Sally's wedding was May 4 in Greenville. She had her reception at the Westin Poinsett Hotel, which was where Patrick and I stayed on our wedding night. So we enjoyed a night out, and stayed at the hotel, which was the first time Banks was without both of us overnight. He stayed with my parents, and did pretty well!

Memorial weekend was Andy's Bachelor party, so Patrick was in Gulf Shores, Alabama/Florida for the long weekend. He golfed, relaxed on the beach and had a great time. Banks and I spent the weekend in Greenville.
The next weekend was Heather's Bachelorette Party in Nashville. Nannie and Pops came and stayed in Anderson with Patrick and Banks for the weekend. I had a wonderful time, and want to return to Nashville at some point again soon!
