As in four whole months since I've posted. Boy have we been busy! We went to Mexico in April for our 5th anniversary/my birthday celebrations. Then we've spent most weekends of May and June on the road, visiting family and friends. We went to Aiken for Will and Ashley's wedding, along with the Riverhouse, Charleston, and Virginia (the Terry's lakehouse). We also celebrated Easter, Mother's and Father's Day, birthdays, engagements, and the list goes on.
Banks is a good little traveler in the car (with the help of snacks and the iPad Mickey Mouse movies). He sleeps most of the time we are driving and doesn't require too many stops. It is difficult right now, however, having him in strange places because he is fully dependent on us and has a hard time adjusting to new places without his typical food, bed, toys, and play area. We have decided that doing what we can to help Banks stay put in the comfort of his home is the best thing for him (and me) for the rest of summer! We know this is temporary, and that this time will go by way too fast and he will be wanting to be independent and swimming, playing, and entertaining himself. So I am going to soak up the time with him at home taking walks, splashing in the blow-up pool, and running around outside. I'm not going to lie, I actually love this time with my boy and wouldn't trade it for anything!
BOAT - we bought a boat in April. It's been fun having a way to go out and enjoy all of the lakes around Anderson, and Patrick has enjoyed fishing. Banks is his first mate. When we are on the boat, Banks insists to be in Patrick's lap at the steering wheel.
KIDNEY - Banks had a kidney follow-up appointment in April, where we got good news that Banks' kidney has continued to improve, going down a little more in size. This was surprising news for us, because we were told at his last appointment in December that his kidney had likely reached a baseline and would not be improving anymore. And it did! It is still enlarged, but functional. We will have another follow-up in October.
TUBES - Banks got tubes put in his ears TODAY (6/30/15). He had a stomach virus about a month ago, and Dr.Mattox saw that he also had another ear infection at that time. It was his 6th infection, and Dr.Mattox felt that it was time for an ENT referral. Dr.Way at Medicus here in Anderson did the surgery - it was really basic and simple and quick, and Banks recovered with no problems. Hopefully the tubes will help not only his ears feel better, but also his language development, and his head tilt (we've still been going to PT and OT trying to correct the head tilt).
I think that hits most of the highlights and important points from the last few months. Now, a few pictures...
